Greetings earnest readers,

As we progress through the season I have come to understand that in life we are forced to accept many truths. We cannot run away or hide from them, a foolish errand would be to deny them, all we can do is live.

An unhandy truth would be that you do not know who I am, but I certainly know you. I am a reasonable individual, so if you treat others well then you have nothing to fear. Writing the sins of others is not a tragedy for those who are fair.

Fairness, sadly, is a novel concept to Lady Katherine Chesterton. An uncomfortable truth is that after a table shattered at her opening ball, she was seen being cruel and vulgar towards her staff. Such nastiness is not tolerated by this author, nor should it be expected of the mother of the new Duke.

What was certainly not expected was the unbelievable truth of the sudden return of one Lady Temperance Ackroyd during her niece’s debut. Returning from the presumed dead is sure to be a thriller for others, but clearly it wasn’t for the Countess Ackroyd. Rumours say that she was seen chastising her sister moments after her miracle entrance. this author has no doubt that there must be something tainted in their sisterly love. Although Lady Lucy could learn a valuable lesson on the art of confidence, considering how she was upstaged so easily.

Perhaps a more unfortunate truth will be faced by Duke Henry Starling and Major General Alexandra Fortescue once they learn of how Lord Albion Starling ran off with Lady Parthenia Fortescue, both of them unchaperoned. It is a certainly interesting, or rather idiotic, move to try. If they wish to continue wrecking the balls for themselves then may they walk that self-inflicted fiery path alone.

An unusual truth would be that a certain Charles Montague has been spotted in dodgy areas of town, oftentimes right before and after important social events.Could he be following in the footsteps of his sisters? Or could he simply be trying to protect his honour? This author will refuse to be determined on guiltiness until proven otherwise.

What has been proven, is the undeniable truth that Georgianna Darling is doing a fantastic job in her role as a Countess. Reports of generous gifts being handed out have reached my ears and it is very pleasing. The Darling Family are indeed the proof that taste, class and dignity are still present, the best gift the countess could give.

And finally, of course, an unforgettable truth is that this author, and no doubt you wonderful readers, are thrilled to see what unfolds as we enter into the spring. May all of us blossom into the best of ourselves during this time.

This has been an exciting season so far in the boxing scene. Although Ernie Pen started off below his usual form, he has greatly improved over the past few weeks and is now a serious contender for podium placement in the upcoming championships.

Furthermore, a mysterious masked fighter under the pseudonym ‘The Black Countess’ has taken to the ring several times. They are an impressive newcomer, although they were a little overambitious in their first fight where they attempted to take on Kit Bennet. They have become a fan-favourite of audiences, and speculation about their identity is rife.

Baron Jean Guillaume Chevalier has recently been made a member of the prestigious Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce, after an impressive few weeks spent teaching natural philosophy and mathematics to the children of Mayfair parish.
