Henrietta Darling, Lucy Ackroyd, Ivy Shelton, Parthenia Fortescue, Albion Starling and other intrepid new faces will be debuting, and I am sure that each and every one of them will be a showstopper… in their own ways. As is the tradition of having something new, we also have something ‘’old’’. Rumours say that Georgianna Darling has finally made her return to London after she unexpectedly left for France years ago. The esteemed Darling family I am sure are glad of her return, and this author is pleased to hear of it. Sadly the ‘borrowed’ tradition has taken a dark twist this year. I can assure you that this author is not pleased about the rising levels of theft amongst the Ton. It is always a tragedy when an individual's life has to resort to such depravity, and one can only hope that justice can be reached in a sympathetic manner. However, if these criminals are expecting a smooth time then they are surely mistaken, as there are few who would tolerate such disrespect. Speaking of disrespect, rumours say that the Dowager Duchess Mary Chesterton had been offered an invitation to this year’s Debut Ball, but has rejected out of “grief”. Putting one’s life into standstill to reflect those who wish to keep moving but cannot is an admirable thing. However, to snub Duke Thomas and Lady Katherine Chesterton will not go down well, no doubt there is more at play than merely feeling ‘blue’. But let that ‘blue’ not be the tone of this new season, and thus the author cannot wait to hear what will happen, and I am sure that you beautiful readers cannot wait to hear about them too. Always your obedient servant, Earl Hollerback [credit to an anonymous PC for writing this…] =====Three Thefts!===== We may have only been back in London for a few weeks, but already innocent members of the Ton have been the victims of crime, with a frequency far higher than in recent years. The Shelton family were the unlucky recipient of a card featuring a burning bridge - the signature of the Bridge Burglar - as they lost the silverware from their kitchen one night. Additionally, Lady Anne Neville was relieved of her jewellery by the highwayman known as the Black Cat, while she was out for a carriage ride last Tuesday. Finally, a pressed dandelion was found in the dresser of the well-know music instructor Leslie Undrell, in place of his ring collection - the unmistakable mark of the Dandy Lion. In the face of this abhorrent criminal activity, please remain vigilant! =====Another Win For Allen===== On Friday, Rose Allen had another impressive victory, defeating established talent Ernie Pen in a spectacular show of skill. Percival Austen has adjusted his odds for the Allen-Bennet match yet again, as it becomes even likelier that Allen will defeat the reigning champion.
