====== Character Creation ======

Character Creation in //The Social Season// consists of the following components, each of which is detailed below:

=====Basic Details=====
  * **OC information:** Inform the GM (and eventually your fellow players) about your out-of-character name and pronouns. In addition, you will be asked to supply an email address and a Discord username (although the latter is not required).
  * **IC name(s), pronouns and age:** Select a name and pronouns for your character. Please also tell us your character's age, since others may wish to use this information to guide their ballgowning choices.
=====Biographies=====
  * **Public Bio:** A short biography that will be published on the [[Player Characters]] page on this wiki, visible to all players and others reading the wiki. There is a **200 word limit** on public bios.
  * **Private Bio:** A short biography of your character visible only to you and the GM.
=====Character Details=====
  * **Skills:** You have 2 skill points to spend by default, or 3 if you take a skill at -1. Read more about skills [[skills|here]].
  * **Do you have an arc in mind for your character? If so, what?** - Players may have a more satisfying experience if they come into the game with an idea of their character's arc, or the themes they wish to explore, since the small number of sessions provides less opportunity to find this out naturally through play.
  * **How does your character feel about attending the Debut Ball this season?**
  * **What are your character's most important relationships?** These relationships can be with other Player Characters, NPCs listed on the wiki or NPCs from your backstory. If a character has living members of their immediate family, these relationships are likely to be significant in some way (but please do not feel limited to only discuss family relationships).
  * **What is your character's biggest flaw?** Perhaps they will give into this flaw during the game, at the risk of causing scandal, or perhaps they will learn to overcome it and become a better person.
  * **What part of playing this game are you most excited for?** Do you prefer making an impact on plot or character drama? Is there some aspect of the setting that really excites you? 
=====Safety questions===== 
Let me know if there's anything I can do to make your game experience more comfortable. The answers to these questions will be seen only by the GM.
    * **Romance Me?** - Are you open to roleplaying romantic relationships with Non-Player Characters? (You will need to ask for OC consent before ballgowning with Player Characters.)
    * **Make Me Cry?** - Would you prefer a more emotionally intense game experience, where the GM tries to tug on your heartstrings?
    * **Themes to Avoid** - If there are any themes permitted by our [[CAT policy]] or other themes/phobias not mentioned there that you would like to tell me about, please let me know and I will do my best to ensure you avoid encountering them. 
    * **Participants to Avoid** - Are there any other players or crew you wish to avoid during the game, and are you alright with the GM telling them this? If you do not give me permission to tell them, I will do my best to keep you apart, but there is a limited amount I can do anonymously.
    * **Accessibility** - Do you have any health or accessibility requirements that you would like to tell me about?
=====Closing remarks=====
At the end of the form, there is a space for you to share any final thoughts about the game with the GM.

If you have any questions for the GM concerning character creation, or are simply looking for inspiration for what sort of character to play, I will be running an optional character creation session on **Wednesday 15th July**, online on the Discord server. 

====== Submitting Your Character ======

Please submit your character via this [[https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSff1CAhQrjsSiqoFn2-mQ1nGUSWgSDysGvZ8CF9j2kUFbcrjA/viewform?usp=publish-editor|form]]. The deadline for character submissions is **19:00** on **Sunday 19th July**.

======Crew======

If you select that you wish to participate in the game as crew, you will be shown the following set of questions:

  * **Would you like to crew online or in-person?**
  * **How many NPCs would you like to play?** This can be anywhere between 1 and 5.
  * **How much emailing do you envision yourself doing?** It is totally fine if the answer is 'none'.
  * **Do you have any preferences for NPCs?** These could be NPCs from the wiki or a particular part of the setting you would like to be involved in. Please note that the pronouns of NPCs on the wiki can be changed according to the preferences of the person playing them.
