=====Georgianna Darling===== The Late Countess of Ramsbridge was a sharp and glistening diamond, in her prime. She was a beautiful and accomplished woman, light-footed on the dancefloor as she flitted between old friends and new, with a steel glint in her eye, and pointed fingernails. She was a meticulously crafted illusion cloaked in false confidence, and, at one time, an aspirational interpenetrability. Georgianna no longer wishes to be like her mother. She enjoys hearing laughter from other rooms in the house, and she enjoys watching others. Too long have the eyes of the Ballroom stifled her, now Georgianna brushes along the walls of each new season, collecting the anxieties and hopes of debutants, and nudging them along in the right direction if a little help is desired. She still embraces a handful of necessary mischief, and no discerning parent would allow her to chaperone unless they encouraged news of an engagement, but generally Georgianna is a good omen at a party, pays respect to her hosts, and converses with anyone who desires her company. She does not ever fully usurp Christmas, nor would she want to deprive her father of whatever happiness he draws from the organising of the household. She rides often, and it is not uncommon for callers to find her tracking mud through the house when they visit. In quiet moments it is possible to glimpse Georgianna tucked away by herself, usually at a vantage point where she can watch the crowds, mesmerised by the dancers and searching the faces below. Many assume it’s a lingering paranoia from the fateful attack on Henrietta; certainly, after her sister was injured Georgianna raised hell against any that could be held responsible for what occurred. Only once did someone get close enough to see, before breaking her reverie, that she watches with unfocused eyes gazing in on an invisible past. Despite this, Georgianna is quite insistent on her happiness, and treasures each moment she spends with her family. Road-weary and atoning for her flight many years ago, Georgianna Darling is quite content, for now, to bask in the joy of those around her. -- //Written by Charlotte N.//
